ERSpN Sports Beat

It was a beautifully brisk evening at the Ballpark in Edmond. It was also destined to be a great night for the Rangers. Everything seemed to be going their way in the top half of the 1st inning. Weeks of long hard work culminated tonight as the Rangers pushed 6 runs across the plate in the 1st. That was just the boost their defense needed to come alive. They supported their offense by allowing only 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st before Fowler struckout the side. Cherry did an unbelievable job behind the plate as he acted like the Great Wall of China. Very little was geting by tonight. No one got anything cheap on the base paths. He made them earn everything.

Offensively, the 2nd inning would prove to be just as successful as the Rangers scored six more runs. The entire lineup looked great at the plate. Top to bottom, all gave quality at bats. After a double play early in the bottom of the 2nd, it looked like another quick half inning. But, as has been the case many times in the past, a two-out rally kept the Bulls in the hunt. The Rangers would finally get out of the 2nd inning with a 12-8 lead.

Adkins was primed and ready to come in and close out the game, but his services would not be needed this time. The juggernaut that appeared tonight in the form of the Ranger bats would rear its head once more in the top of the 3rd inning. 3 quick runs in the top of the 3rd would put the game out of reach for the Bulls and the game was called by the umpires.

It was a great night for the boys. It was so nice to see all of the hard work pay off. Nice game Rangers. Congratulations on the first win of the Fall season. No games next week. Tune in on October 13th to get the updates from the double header that will close the season for the Rangers. 'Til then, this is Josh Fowler for the Edmond Rangers Sporting News signing off.

Good night!
